RUSSBA mission:  to facilitate speed-up in the country’s innovative development and growth of the GNP innovative component on the basis thereof.

RUSSBA goal:  to provide assistance to development of a new sector in the country’s economy, namely to business-angel investing, based on favorable conditions for business-angel activity in Russia.  Since the primary goal of business angels is accelerated development and growth of capitalization of innovated companies, which are jointly owned by them, favorable conditions are intended to be provided both for business angels themselves (attainment of capital, returns, etc.) and for innovative companies which receive investments (taxation terms, rent of premises, consulting, etc.).

RUSSBA key objectives:

•  Favorable economic and legal framework for business-angel activities in Russia, including legislative initiative and protection of interests of business angel community.
• Development and implementation, independently of jointly with other entities, of special-purpose projects and programs aimed at acceleration of innovative development in Russia.  
• Intensive interaction with governmental authorities on the issues relating to development of business angel community in Russia based on the principles of partnership between privately- and state-owned entities.
• Assistance in preparation of small high-technology companies for attainment of investments; provisions for their interaction with business angel community.  
• Activity aimed at increasing investors’ qualifications, education and training courses for business angels, training of specialists in the area of investors’ qualification improvement.  
• Establishment and spreading of ethics based on properties such as honour, duty, responsibility, reliability in the business angel community.  
• Establishment of positive image of business angels and innovators in the public opinion.
• Favorable conditions for joining capitals and joined investing, including RUSSBA seed and venture funds.   
• Assistance in attainment of investments for next rounds (venture, direct, bank investments, IPO, etc.).
• Development of regional business-angel networks and involvement of new RUSSBA members.  
• Integration of Russian business angels into the international business angel community; sharing experience with foreign colleagues, attainment of foreign capital, assistance to Russian innovative companies in entering  world markets.  
• Assistance to business angels in innovative company management and/or joined management.
